Manchmal ist die Mentalität der marokkanischen Freunde nicht leicht zu verstehen. Heute am Sonntag kommen sie zu sechst zu mir auf den Campingplatz, sechs km mit ihrem letzten Geld für das Taxi.



Wir gehen gemeinsam zum Strand und treffen dort drei Franzosen ueber 60 Jahre alt. Die Freunde sprechen die meiste Zeit mit den Franzosen. Endlich können sie mal Französisch sprechen, was sie selten tun, obwohl es ihre 2. Sprache ist, noch vor Englisch. Das fällt ihnen auch viel leichter, als Englisch mit einem Deutschen zu reden. Als wir uns verabschieden, fragen sie mich nach Geld für das Taxi.



Anderseits, wenn einer eine Flasche Cola mitbringt oder etwas zu Essen, dann kriegen wir alle selbstverständlich etwas davon ab. Wenn man finanziell reich werden will, sollte man diese Gruppe schnell verlassen, da vieles vom Schlund dieser "an-Geld-armen-Gemeinschaft" verschlungen wird. Wenn man trotz Armut Spaß haben, singen und tanzen will, dann ist man hier genau richtig. Auch wenn manches Singen und Tanzen sicher dazu dient, um Probleme wie Armut und Arbeitslosigkeit für einen Moment zu vergessen.

Sie haben weniger Wohlstand und mehr Probleme als wir Deutschen, aber sie jammern weniger. Das gefällt mir sehr.

Hier ein paar Beispiele, um zu verstehen, wieviel unser Geld wert ist hier in Dakhla in der Wüste, der Heimat von Nabil:

Der schönste Strand von Dakhla liegt 25 km entfernt. Wenn Nabil und seine Freunde am Sonntag dort mal ausnahmsweise hinfahren, dann kostet dies jeden 40 Dirham, 3,60 € für ein selbst gekochtes Mittagessen und Hin-und-Rückfahrt. Letzten Sonntag waren wir dort und alle waren sehr ausgelassen und glücklich. Diesen Sonntag wollten wir wieder fahren, aber die meisten hatten die 3,60 € nicht. Nabil und seine Freunde haben alle keine Arbeit. Einige besuchen eine hoehere Schule, verdienen dort aber natuerlich nichts.

Wer eine Arbeit hat verdient im Monat um 2.000 Dirham, ca 175 €.
1 kg Gemüse kostet 0,40 €, ein Fladenbrot 0,09 €.
Eine gebrauchte Gitarre kostet 60 €, Nabil liebt Gitarrespielen, aber seine wurde gestohlen.
Ein gebrauchtes schlechtes Fahrrad ist hier mit 100 bis 200 € allerdings unverhältnismäßig teuer und kostet mehr als in Deutschland. Daher 'bestaunen' mich hier viele Leute. Sie halten mich für 'reich', weil ich ein Rad habe.

Dabei verdiene ich grade weniger als 500 €. Das sind etwa 5.000 Dirham und das ist in Dakhla sehr viel. Von 20 € kann Nabil eine Woche lang Essen & Trinken kaufen.

Mit wenig könnt ihr hier viel bewirken. Und eure Gebete brauchen sowohl die 3 Christen hier - mehr konnte Nabil in 5 Jahren Christsein nicht finden und er ist ein sehr kontaktfreudiger Mensch - als auch die Moslems mit ihrem gerechten und barmherzigen, aber wenig liebevollem Gott. Der Koran ist etwa vergleichbar mit der Bibel ohne Jesus. Ihr könnt euch also vorstellen, nach was die Menschen sich hier sehnen.

Sometimes the mentality of the Moroccan friends is not easy to understand. Today on Sunday six of them come to me to the camp, six kilometers with their last money for the taxi.

We walk together to the beach where they encounter three Frenchmen over 60 years old. The friends speak the most time with the French. Finally they can have a word French, which they rarely do, although their 2nd Language, even before English. This is for them a lot easier than speaking English with a German. As we say goodbye, they ask me for money for the taxi.

On the other hand, if someone brings a bottle of Coke or something to eat, we'll get something from them all of course. If you want to be financially successful, you should quickly leave this group, because many things are swallowed up by the throat "of money-poor community." If you like to have fun in spite of poverty, and wants to sing and dance, then you are exactly right here. Even if some singing and dancing certainly serves to forget problems such as poverty and unemployment for a moment.

They have less wealth and more problems than we Germans, but they complain less. I like it very much.

Here are a few examples in order to understand, how much our money is worth here in Dakhla in the desert, the home of Nabil:

The most beautiful beach of Dakhla is located 25 km away. When Nabil and his friends on Sunday to go there once exception, then it will cost every 40 dirhams, 3.60 € for a self-cooked dinner and out-and-return for a car. Last Sunday we were there and everyone was very relaxed and happy. This Sunday we wanted to drive again, but most did not have the 3.60 €. Nabil and his friends all have no work. Some attend high school, but of course nothing to earn.

Those who work has earned in the month by 2,000 dirhams, about 175 €.
1 kg vegetables costs 0.40 €, a flat bread 0.09 €.
A used guitar costs 60 €, Nabil loves to play guitar, but his was stolen.
A used bad cycle is here, however, with 100 to 200 € disproportionately expensive and costs more than in Germany. Therefore admire 'me here a lot of people. They think I'm 'rich', because I have a bicycle.

I earn just less than 500 €. This is about 5,000 dirhams and this is in Dakhla much. From 20 € Nabil is a week to buy food & beverage.

With little here you can make a difference. And both need your prayers the 3 Christians here - Nabil could not find more in 5 years of being a Christian and he is a very sociable person - and the Muslims with their just and merciful, but not very loving God. The Koran is roughly comparable to the Bible without Jesus. So you can you imagine what people long for here.
